What to include with your request

An estimate is only as accurate as the details behind it. The mileage between two addresses is the easy part. What actually shapes a local move is the route your belongings travel between the door and the truck, at both ends. Send these four things and the number you get back will be far closer to the final scope:

Both addresses and the date. Include the delivery address even if it is not finalized, and note whether the date is firm or flexible.
A room-by-room inventory. List large or fragile pieces separately, including anything that may need disassembly.
Access at both properties. Where a truck can legally stand, the carrying distance to the entry, exterior steps, interior stairs, elevator size and reservation rules, gate widths, and low clearances.
Services you want quoted. Full or partial packing, supplies, specialty handling for a pool table or appliances, or office decommissioning.

What happens after you send it

We review the inventory against the access details at both addresses and come back with the scope we can support, the crew and equipment it needs, and current availability for your date. If something in the request needs clarifying, such as an elevator policy or a piece that may not clear a stair turn, we raise it then rather than on move day. Availability and final scope are confirmed for the specific move.

Why does access affect the price more than distance?

Crew time is the main cost driver on a local move, and access determines how long the carry takes. A short drive with a long carry, a stair building, or a reserved elevator window can take longer than a further move with a driveway at both ends.

Can the price change on move day?

It can if what the crew finds does not match what was described, such as added items, a blocked loading area, or a destination route that was not reviewed. Sending complete inventory and access details up front is what keeps the estimate and the final scope aligned.

How far ahead should I request an estimate?

Earlier is better, particularly for month-end dates, summer weekends, and buildings that require a reserved elevator or loading window. If your date is firm, send the request as soon as you have it.
